I wanted to reach out and inform you of an issue that has arisen in Colorado, more specifically Denver/North Colorado Real Estate. There are two MLS services that provide listings to the area: IRES and Metrolist. Until yesterday they were great partners and shared their data: IRES farther north, and Metrolist for Denver and south. The Issue stems from the middle ground of Lafayette/Louisville/Erie/Superior/Broomfield/Thorton/Arvada area in between. However, as of yesterday the two MLS services ended their sharing agreement. Here is a story from the Denver Post detailing the schism:
What this means for you as a potential real estate investor, buyer, or seller is that for anyone buying in these overlap areas needs to understand that there are now two SEPARATE MLS services that don’t share their data. Now realtors will need to have access to BOTH MLS in order to find all homes in the area. When looking for a home it is now IMPERATIVE that you chose a realtor with the expertise and ability to access both MLS. I have access to both systems and have for some time now. Know that I have taken measures to provide the best possible experience for all my friends and clients. I will continue to provide the highest level of service and access to BOTH MLS, so when the time comes we can find the perfect home for you!
